Konrad R. Müller was born in 1940 in Berlin, Germany. After early art studies, he turned to photography and while still a teenager did a series of portraits of German chancellor Konrad Adenauer. He has also produced in-depth stories on major international figures such as late-Egyptian president Anwar al-Sadat, Austrian chancellor Bruno Kreisky, French president François Mitterrand, and Russian president Vladimir Putin. Represented by Contact Press Images in the US and France since 2002, he is based in southern Germany.
